Cravinkel "Garden Of Loneliness" LP

With their 2nd album Cravinkel left the British terrain of rock-blues music and turned towards a sweeping psychedelic and progressive sound instead. In 1971 they recorded the album "Garden of Loneliness" together with their new drummer Günther Thoenes (formerly Sphinx Tush). The album starts with the roughly 10 minute piece "Sitting in the Forest", showing in many passages that Cravinkel´s roots are in the genre of folk-rock. Varying vocals, regularly drifting into the terrain of blues music, accompanied by several guitar tracks and subtle drums create tension and draw the audience´s attention. The title song "Garden of Loneliness" is also about 10 minutes long and much diversified with constant tempi changes. "Stoned", on the album´s B-side, is a true epic of more than 20 minutes. These pieces characterise the post flower power and hippie era, which mostly stood for musical freedom, displaying a substantial and independent musical potential, much to the joy not just of lovers of psychedelia. The album was remastered from the original master tapes and comes with a great poster, lyrics and band history.
