“Musically there is a lot going on here, and it would be impossible to fit it into any particular genre. Peters’ influences range from ‘classical’, he cites Czech composer Smetana in particular; but also early electronic music such as the Radiophonic Workshop, and there are elements of 70’s Michael Oldfield and Jean Michel Jarre in his work. These are to a certain extent destabilised by elements of ‘Krautrock’, which allow for the sorts of departures that keep you guessing and don’t allow the you to fall into the trap of getting so carried away by the music that it loses you, or you it. Similarly there are Middle Eastern and Eastern influences that further broaden Peters’ musical palate adding further colour and texture to the music...” (Psych Insight)

Soulitude is a solo project by Christian Peters (singer in Samsara Blues Experiment) beautifully composed by himself. When it first came on I was truly delighted and overwhelmed by his musical skills and I lost all my contact with the outside world. This German is a master loves what he does and turns silver into gold; he's like a healing tongue licking all bad things away! After a short intro this marvellous piece of plastic just explodes into a colour haze and Peters clearly shows the world that nothing can stop him from reaching the sky. The Flying Eyes are a very promising heavy psych quartet hailing from Baltimore, Maryland. This is their debut release, a full length compilation of two excellently recorded EPs ("Bad Blood" & "Winter"). Are you ready to bring the authentic roots of Free-Flowing Krautrock Jams and true festival feeling to your home? Embryo and the Burg Herzberg Festival (Europe´s biggest Hippie event) is a long story... 40 years ago, when the first one happened in the old castle, Embryo was there. After that performance they even got robbed, a blue painted violin and a good amp were gone for ever. In all the years following the festival got bigger and changed to a different place to find room for the growing audience and stages. Embryo played there many times in different line-ups. This performance was a sort of chill out act for the whole festival.

The nucleus of this band (Jens, Lothar, Mik. Marja, Christian) had grown through all the many years on tour to a steady line-up, supported by five other friends: on trumpet Werner, who was introduced by Mik, one of the few good oboe-players around. On guitar Valentin Altenberger. His father is a modern jazz drummer and his mother, a jazzsinger who grew up in the family of Bobbie Jones, known for his work with Charles Mingus, so he grew up in a musical surrounding and knows Marja since his childhood. On oud and guitar Andy Rust who knows much about Indian culture and is with Embryo since some years. The third electric guitar is played by Björn Eric Münz from Ensemble ORIENT-EXPRESS, also good friends of Embryo.

On Percussion Norbert Keck who had been playing with the band almost on all the Herzberg gigs in the last years. This CD presents a rawer electric set by Embryo (because the wet and cold wind at the Festival weekend made it too hard to tune the acoustic instruments)! So, this CD will satisfy the early 70s Kraut-Jam-Improvisation-Rock fans a lot but feat. also jazzy vibes and structures. Includes an 8 p. booklet with nice linernotes by bandleader C. Burchard (German & English, great sound quality, 3 extended pieces, 75 mins, analog mixing and mastering). Highly recommended for Jam-&-Impro-Freaks!

This soundtrack concept album (for an upcoming movie) is best described as a Voodoo Space Rock experience which tells the "true" story of what will happen to the world on December 21st, 2012. Besides 6 original cuts, the album contains 4 cover tunes, such as "Die, Die my Darling" with male and female-Airplane-style vocals, a gigantic monumental 8 min. version of Metallica´s "For whom the Bell tolls" basically in Black Sabbath sound feat. an ultra-heavy and frightening Hammond Organ over burning 60s fuzz guitars - a total blast! They perform with intensity and flow that only the end-60s San Fransico Bands and the mid 80s speed/thrash/punk revolution generated.

Drawing influences from AC/DC to Fu Manchu, Melvins and Unsane to ZZ Top; these guys most definitely won´t be the every day business to your ears. Their sound is at the same time uncomfortable and soothing to those who feel absorbed from the boundaries in music genres or society rules in general. They are the aliens among us, with no intend but to dig their way through the underground and slowly assuming control. Even if you never felt you were in need or searching anything special, you´ll soon find a new home within GHOST COUNTRY. This may become your promised land, but then watch out for its goon platoon, because they aren´t predictable at all! Once you felt safe atop their groove machine, you´ll be shaken to the ground by some terrifying riffage, surrounded in darkness by painful whispers and backward screams, driven by harsh experimental noise into an undergrowth of electric feedbacks. These guys don´t care what you feel or think, they´ll just run you over and let you beg for mercy... or for more... it´s up to you, but don´t say you haven´t been warned!

Timeless progressive and psychedelic Krautrock 2013! Buddha Sentenza dives deeply into the early 70s sound like not many bands nowadays do. "ROCK HARD in concert" rounds off Samsara Blues Experiment's discography and gives their fans a huge load of intense music-artistry. It can be seen as the climax by a perfectly rehearsed group after a decade of worldwide touring. The improviations here, especially on guitar, are more intense than on the studio albums. A cross-section of almost all SBE albums was performed that evening, including two songs from the latest album "End Of Forever", released in 2021; besides there are several fan highlights like "Singata Mystic Queen" and "Center Of The Sun" on the setlist. These recordings were made during the last SBE tour in November 2018 and have been engineered and mixed by Holger Stratmann, editor of Germany's Rock Hard Magazine; mastering was done by the former Grobschnitt drummer and Krautrock legend Eroc. Fuzz Sagrado is the new psychedelic rock project of the creative head of Samsara Blues Experiment, Chris Peters, who not only plays guitar and sings here, but also takes care of all the other instruments. "Luz e Sombra" (Light and Shadow) is now the second album in two years after its predecessor "A New Dimension" from 2022. The music can be seen as a continuation of Peters' work with SBE, in some ways the new album seems to tie in very well with SBE's "End Of Forever" as there are some longer 70's influenced prog pieces alongside shorter grunge era style songs. Although the production is more direct and Fuzz Sagrado is, of course, a different project with even more diverse influences than SBE, Samsara fans should find some familiarity here. But also fans of well-written psychedelic rock with influences from the late 60s to today should definitely give this a listen!

World In Sound presents its first release with Kiwi roots with the young and ambitious quartet “Sun and the Wolf”. Salutations is their return, the second full length album which opens the gates to a psychedelic soaked wonderland. The nine analog recorded cuts are dynamically arranged continuing on from the explosive and overdriven rhythm and blues that their debut LP "White Buffalo" boasted, while exploring darker realms of fuzz driven psychedelia with catchy riffage and splashes of The Beatles´ lysergic era. Tales of heartbreak, debauchery and deceit echoing from a far away room, the guitar driven sound shows a band soulful and haunted in their delivery, live and on record.

The group relocated from Auckland to Berlin in late 2008 leaving behind a band formerly known as “The Have”. Formed in their teens, the band carved its name upon the New Zealand rock’n’roll scene. There they experienced commercial radio and television success, were invited to SXSW in Texas twice and had their debut album produced by Barrett Jones who worked with Nirvana and The Melvins. They have shared stages with likes as Sleepy Sun, Kasabian, Wolfmother, Dead Meadow, A Place To Bury Strangers and standout festival performances at the notorious Fusion Festival.
