Estes Brothers "Transitions" CD 15,00 €

"Transitions" by Estes Brothers is one of the rarest US private pressings and truly a heavy- psych masterpiece. It was released in Ohio in 1971 and original copies are nearly impossible to find, only 100 were made. The album has been re-issued by legendary Rockadelic Records in the 1990s on vinyl and by WIS on CD (WIS-1013) in 2002.

Six longer album cuts from 4-9 minutes express intense, atmospheric and epic movements, stunning guitarwork and the typical haunted blues hardrock blend of the early 70s. The main influences are British 70s rock heroes and US- Westcoast acid/jam rock in the vains of Quicksilver Messenger Service.

The quartet further recorded one 45 record "Tomorrow ́s Sunlight/Yesterdays Blues" - this edition is the complete discography of the Estes Brothers, presented with the original cover artwork, photos and historical background. On the CD issue, you ́ll find five extra-bonustracks, live and home recordings from a later period of the group.

It seems like a mystery that it took over 50 years until these outstanding recordings, are finally released - Society ́s Children were founded by the mother and son duo Doreen and Pat Sassone near Chicago in 1968.

The quartet released only one very rare 45 record on the Cha-Cha label, titled "Mister Genie Man", truly a punkadelic-fuzz-organ-masterpiece; more Songs were recorded at Columbia Studios in 1968, but an intended album did not get finished until another recording session was made in 1974.

Musically they built a perfect bridge between hard driven, dark-psych and garage euphoria (Seeds, Electric Prunes) and melancholic but also soulful-bluesy psychedelic Westcoast rock & folk, inspired by Jefferson Airplane or Big Brother.

This lost album contains 13 original compositions with a spectacular fuzz tone of Sassone ́s "Gibson Firebird" electric 12 String guitar; and the highly intense, remarkable female vocals make this album a milestone for end-Sixties psychedelia, several tunes have an all-time hit-potential!

Fuzz Sagrado "Luz e Sombra" CD 15,00 €

Fuzz Sagrado is the new psychedelic rock project of the creative head of Samsara Blues Experiment, Chris Peters, who not only plays guitar and sings here, but also takes care of all the other instruments. "Luz e Sombra" (Light and Shadow) is now the second album in two years after its predecessor "A New Dimension" from 2022. The music can be seen as a continuation of Peters' work with SBE, in some ways the new album seems to tie in very well with SBE's "End Of Forever" as there are some longer 70's influenced prog pieces alongside shorter grunge era style songs. Although the production is more direct and Fuzz Sagrado is, of course, a different project with even more diverse influences than SBE, Samsara fans should find some familiarity here. But also fans of well-written psychedelic rock with influences from the late 60s to today should definitely give this a listen!

This is the ultimate collection of Samsara Blues Experiment's roots: 10 tracks, almost 70 mins running time, mostly unreleased and unique material! When his band Terraplane ("Into The Unknown") broke up in 2007, Chris Peters headed off to Berlin where the seeds of Samsara grew constantly until their debut "Long Distance Trip" came out in 2010. The material on this new CD has been recorded between 2007 and 2009 and consists of jams, demos and live recordings. It reflects an open spectrum of space-out Psychedelic Krautrock in its many hypnotic variations including plenty of oriental flashes on Sitar. SBE Demos & Rarities" is intense and pure with a solid sound quality. Only four tracks have already been released on Peters´ Electric Magic-label as a limited edition on EMCD-01 "USA Tour EP", while most others were not released before.

Here's a great release of excellent sounding live recordings, made during the 1977 edition of the 'Umsonst Und Draußen' festival in Vlotho. Embryo's mixture of jazz-rock and world music went down extremely well with the crowd, which is why the band played the festival four times in a row, from 1975 to 1978.

Previously unissued recordings from the renamed Missus Beastly! 'Dr. Aftershave' was not just the title of the third album by Missus Beastly, it was also the name the band used for a short while during its latter period, apx. 1980. These tracks were recorded for an intended album that, in spite of interest from a couple of labels, didn't see the light of day til' this CD-release.The material is in an appealing instrumental fusion/jazz rock style, and pretty much continues where Missus Beastly's last album had left off.

There is only one single dub plate of this LP, i. e. one individual copy, which was given as a present to the band's drummer, Reinhold Stania, in 1975. It was unfortunately played too often and is therefore damaged significantly; the master tape was thrown away. Great efforts have now been made to restore and decrackle the LP as far as possible in the Kerpen Railroad Tracks studio, which is probably the best-equipped studio worldwide for this purpose. The result is highly superior to the original, but it is unfortunately still unsatisfactory, especially tracks one and three - more improvement was simply not possible. Only the bonus tracks are perfect. The music is experimental and session-like, not trying to meet high standards, with transverse flute and without vocals. Apart from one gig they had in Essen-Rellinghausen, by the way, Reaktor 4 never had concerts outside their hometown, Bottrop, which is situated in the Ruhr area. Interesting mainly for collectors striving for a complete collection.

With "Dieb Der Seelen", which reminds of very early Puhdys hard rock tracks like "Türen öffnen sich zur Stadt", they definitely have a finger on the pulse of time!

Also for the first time legally reissued is Emergency`s second album from 1972 'Entrance', also on CBS. It has two long tracks (More than ten minutes each) on the b-side and shows the band at it's peak. Perfect musicians play perfect music. Both albums are a must-have! Remastered from mastertape. Entrance has two bonus tracks on the CD ('Sing a song' and 'Happiness', 7'version) and one bonus track on the LP ('Sing a song'). Both from 1972ies 7'. Originally released in 1971 on CBS, Emergency`s 1st Album (with Udo Lindenberg on drums) is reissued legally for the first time on both formats Vinyl and CD. Originally released in 1974 on famous German label Bacillus, Dzyan's third and final album, "Electric Silence" is recognized for its daring world beat elements and totally acidic album cover art. Dzyan refined their sound even further into improvisation and exotic sounds mixed with weird experimentations and mysticism.

"Electric Silence" offers other-worldly music of incredible beauty and strangeness influenced by the music of Asia but taking it into other realms. Multi-instrumentalists Marron and Karwatky experimented with sitar, saz, tambura, mellotron, synthesizers, bass-violin, and a mysterious invented instrument called "super-string", all merged in an extreme melting pot of styles, ideas and fertile imagination, interacting into a "psychedelic worldgroove" while Giger, bursting with creative power and virtuosity, holds it together with his fantastic drumming.

Originally released in 1973 on famous German label Bacillus, Dzyan´s 2nd album "Time Machine" showed a new line-up consisting of guitar player Eddy Marron (also playing a lot of other string instruments), bass genius; band founder and mastermind Reinhard Karwatky and drummer Peter Giger. Produced by Peter Hauke and recorded and mixed by great engineer Dieter Dierks, the trio performed a new sound here, mutating away from vocal-prog-rock of the first album to further exploring jazz and ethnic tonalities with far more space-out and exotic improvisations to an unusual hybrid of acid-rock with serious jazz chops approaching Mahavishnu-land. "Time Machine" offers virtuous and unorthodox musicianship with a high and very own aesthetic quality. For the first time reproduced on vinyl and with original cover art Altona's eponymous first album "1974" is a real gem. Founded by former Thrice Mice members singer and sax player Karl Heinz Blumenberg and guitarist Werner von Gosen Altonas first album could be traced as "Thrice Mice deluxe" with still marked ties to Blodwyn Pig. Their musical elaboration shows a much bigger potential and let the band come forward on a higher musical step. The concept of developing a piece of music within processes of group dynamics, which had been so successful with Thrice Mice, was continued. The Freeman Brothers (A Crack in the Cosmic Egg) characterized the album as a hybrid of Birth Control and Creative Rock, occasionally hinting at Eiliff LP comes with insert (Band story and photos). The music is remastered from the original mastertapes.
